Competitor Early Check In on Friday, February 17th, 2012 after 1200
Mandatory Safety Briefing at 0630 on Saturday, February 18th, 2012
Phoenix Rod & Gun Club
915 West Olney Avenue

SCHEDULE
All Competitors,
Everyone will be assigned a squad and position number. Your squad and position number will determine which bay you will be shooting in and in what order. We have a very full schedule planned to make sure you all get your money’s worth, so we’ll need your assistance in being ready to shoot when it’s your turn. Our Range Officers will do their best to call shooter order (who’s on deck, who’s in the hole, etc.), but they’ll be busy running stages as well. Being aware of your place in the shooting order and beingprepared and ready to shoot when called will be greatly appreciated.
ALL shooters must attend the safety briefing. If you are not present, you will not be allowed to shoot.
We thank you all in advance for your cooperation.

Minimum Equipment Requirements:
Rifle (6mm to 30cal) with a speed limit of 3100fps
- Ammo - 200 rounds total needed, NO FMJ, TRACERS, STEEL CORE, or ARMOR PIERCING bullets allowed.
- Hearing and Eye protection is mandatory on the firing line.
- Tools to run your gun and optics (the last two years we’ve had rain the whole weekend, so keep that in mind as well.)
- There will not be a lunch break on Saturday, so make sure to bring any snacks you may need.
- Note taking gear. As always, attention to detail will help you.
- A pack to carry your gear/equipment
- Competitors must finish with the same rifle he or she started with at the beginning of the match on Saturday morning and carry all gear they are using during the match with them.
Recommended Equipment:
- Knee and elbow pads.
- Binoculars or Laser Range Finder
- Sunscreen
- Good footwear
- Be prepared for the weather. Phoenix in February is usually in the high 70’s-low 80’s. The last two years it has rained the entire weekend with temperatures in the low to mid-60’s.
Range Rules:
- Shooters and observers must attend the safety briefing and sign range release forms.
- PR&GC is a COLD range. No loaded firearms off the firing line at any time.
- Mandatory hearing and eye protection. If a competitor is improperly using eye protection they will receive a warning on the first infraction, a stage DQ on the second, and a match DQ on the third.
- Maintain muzzle control at all times. PR&GC is located in a city park. There are hiking trails and a visitor center just over the hill. Rifles should be carried muzzle up or down, magazines (even empty ones) REMOVED from the rifle. Your muzzle will NOT cover any part of your body or anyone else’s body.
- A negligent discharge (ND) of a firearm will result in immediate removal from the competition. The stage RO may call an ND using his or her own judgment (examples include: the competitor was clearly not engaging the target, competitor was not behind the rifle when it discharged, the competitor was not looking through the scope). Questions regarding an ND judgment may be taken up with the CRO of that shooting bay.
- During the course of fire movement will be done either with the bolt open and back or with the safety on. The RO will give the competitor a safety, or bolt open and back warning before stopping the competitor.
- No person shall consume or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the match. Any person found to be impaired and unsafe as a result of legitimate prescription drugs may be directed to stop shooting and requested to leave the range.
- Stage RO’s and CRO’s are reasonable & fair, but their word is final. Without incontrovertible evidence to dispute your claim, the Match Director will side with the RO/CRO.
During Competition:
- NO ONE will touch another competitor’s rifle or equipment without their permission. If someone is caught tampering with anyone else’s equipment that person will be asked to leave immediately.
- DO NOT FIRE BEFORE THE START SIGNAL. The competitor will receive a 0 for the stage. If you choose to fire because the competitor next to you fires before the start signal, you will also be penalized. This will be the competitors only and last warning. If it happens again, he or she will be asked to leave. We will re-start the stage for the competitors who did not fire before the start signal.
- NO COACHING. This is an individual match, not a team event. Absolutely no coaching a competitor while they are shooting. Discussions regarding the COF between competitors should be done before or after shooting.
- There may be stages where competitors will be scoring for other competitors. If it can be proven that someone is tampering with the scoring, they will be disqualified from the competition and asked to leave immediately. They will also be forbidden from entering any future TPRC events.
- DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE SPOTTERS OR SCOREKEEPERS. If you have a question about a call, take it up with the CRO or Stage RO. Distracting the spotters and/or score keepers will not be tolerated.
- NO CHEATING, NO WHINING, NO GAMING. Violation of any of these rules could and may result in a 0 for the stage or removal from the competition. This is up to the discretion of the Match Director.
Scoring:
In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by Saturday’s cold bore shot. The CBS closest to the center of the target will win
Crossfire scoring:
We will give the benefit of the doubt to the competitor in the event of a possible cross-fire. For example, if the COF calls for 3 rounds and there are 5 on target, we will score the 3 best shots. If it is clear the shots do not belong to the competitor, the competitor will not receive the points for the cross-fired shots. An example of this would be 6mm vs. 30 cal holes.
Steel scoring and spotting:
In two bays a majority of targets engaged will be steel targets. These will be scored as hit or miss. Only hits/impacts will be called out to help our score keepers stay on track. Our spotters are experienced. If you have a question about a call the spotter made, take it up with the Stage RO or the CRO. Do NOT discuss the call with the spotter. That being said, we’re all human. In the event that a mistake is made or a spotter does not catch a hit, we will do our best to correct it. However, our spotters and RO’s have final say. The score keeper will be able to tell you how many hits you had after completion of the stage.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: When can we zero our rifles?
A: Friday, February 17th. A Range Officer will be at the 100 yd smallbore range from 1200-1700 with a chronograph. Paper targets will be available for purchase to verify zero
Q: Can I get a refund if I cancel?
A: No, and you will not be able to sell your spot. We will fill entry spots from the waiting list.
Q: Is this a physically demanding course?
A: Yes and no. The last two years, we’ve had rain the entire weekend. Our shooting bays tend to get a bit muddy when it rains. Prepare accordingly. There may be stages where you are required to carry all of your gear with you. There may be timed events involving obstacles and physical challenges. Have good foot wear and pack wisely.
Q: What is the round count?
A: 200 rounds. If you need to have ammo shipped in, please contact us at tprc2012@gmail.com for details.
Q: What kinds of targets will we be shooting at?
A: Targets will range from paper targets, clays, electronic targets, and reactive/non-reactive steel.
Q: What ranges will we be shooting at?
A: Be prepared for targets anywhere between 7 yards and 715 yards.
Q: Are laser range finders allowed?
A: Yes. However, there is always a possibility of there being stages where they are not allowed.
Q: Is there a limit to rifle caliber?
A: Yes, a minimum of 6mm/243 cal to 30 cal maximum only. All calibers are limited to 3100 FPS. RO may verify this at any time by chronograph. No steel core, FMJ or AP rounds allowed. Velocity may be checked at any time by RO’s.
Q: Is there a magazine limit?
A: No, but certain stages may have load limits or mandatory reloads
Q: Are muzzle brakes allowed?
A: Yes they are.
Q: Is this a “lost brass match”?
A: No extra time will be allotted to pick up brass and any brass left on the range will be disposed of by the match staff. Shooters can spend time “on the clock” while running the stage salvaging brass if they wish.
Q: Is there a lunch time provided?

Q: Will there be food available onsite?

Q: Will there be restrooms available on the ranges?
A: Yes. The 100 yard and High Power ranges both have porta-potties. The High Power range also has access to flush toilets near the 500 yard line. A porta-potty for the Wash is located in the Practical Pistol Bay.
Q: How are prizes awarded?
A: The prizes will be awarded by placement. We will go in order from 1st through 60th. There will be trophies given to 1st through 3rd place finishers. Shooters will walk the prize table in order of finish and will have a predetermined amount of time to select a prize before the next place has their turn.
